Summit House

On the boards in the Sierra Nevada is the Summit House. The steel and concrete structure is designed to resist the high snow loads of Donner Summit while facilitating expansive views into the surrounding forest.

The three story design emphasizes the feeling of living amongst the trees and connects the clients to the place. The visionary and artistic clients wanted a space to host their family as well as practice their craft. Featuring three bedrooms, a flexible bedroom/ceramics studio as well as a music studio and library; this home offers a relaxing respite from busy life.
